But the really stupid thing is that MS has this "Onecare" site that is supposed to help solve problems but since IE8 can't open the scan pages and MS software refuses to scan my broken MS software if I access their site using a functioning browser, you know like Firefox I can' run the software that is suppose to be able to fix the problem.

As a software engineer, I find it very troubling that MS is not able to write memory-leak-free code or follow any set of software programming standards that, if followed by themselves and others writing code to those same standards, would produce code that would be stable and compatible with others' code.
I loaded Mozilla FireFox and can at least use that browser to work on my Vista machine to get things done. I still have problems with Vista crashing if I leave my machine running overnight or during the day when away at work.
